My patient zero
When my father got sick, I was not yet practicing cancer care. He came into my clinic coughing and looking run down, and I knew something was wrong. His doctor was not ordering the tests he needed, so I stepped in, and in the end I was the one who diagnosed him.
We removed the cancer with surgery, then doubled down on everything else: nutrients, hyperbaric oxygen, inflammation control, and exercise. When a later scan looked like a recurrence, a major cancer center recommended chemo and radiation. I was not convinced. I pushed for a biopsy, and it turned out to be inflammation, not cancer. Today he is more than six years with no evidence of disease.
That is his story. One story. And it is why I wrote this book.
